Don’t leave your baby’s new born shots too late. “It’s such a precious time and babies change so quickly,” Anna Barry, photographer and owner of Captured by Anna says.
“You’d be surprised, but the best time for getting babies photographed is between five and 14 days old. They are still very curly and bendy,” Anna explains. “They’re also more likely to be asleep!” She is quick to reassure that babies can be photographed at any time, but this is the most ‘special’.
Anna’s images are soft and earthy, with a warm vintage feel. Word of mouth is her biggest marketer and her studio is located at 9 Sydney Street.
A typical shoot can take up to three hours, and the room is temperature-controlled to 28C. From woven baskets to mini bean bags, blankets, hats and wraps, there is a variety of gorgeous props parents can choose from.
Eventually, Anna would like to teach photography as well. But with each photo shoot, plus editing and post-production, taking up to 10 hours, it’s something that may have to wait!
