Why community and connection are so important

Steph Ryan MP

This magazine throws a spotlight on the stories of more than 50 community groups and businesses, and over 110 people in Kilmore.

I’d like to thank each and every person who gave their time to share their stories.

Kilmore Florist

When Jodi Phillips and her husband came to Kilmore on a day-trip, they didn’t expect to buy a florist shop.

But that’s exactly what happened. Within a matter of days, Jodi was the owner of Kilmore Florist just one week before Mother’s Day.

Jodi says that although she’s always loved flowers and has run florists previously, she wasn’t expecting to own another.

“We were only looking for houses,” she says. “We like this area, and when we came here, dominoes fell – rather unexpectedly.”

Although Jodi has been open just a few months, she says that her days are so busy that lunch is often missed. “My biggest challenge is sore hands!” she exclaims.
