Kilmore Miniature Railway at Apex Park is a fun, monthly attraction for children and families. Dianne Le Quiniat says, “It’s a great experience that families always enjoy.”

There is a lot of hard work by volunteers to make the railway what it is.” says Dianne who is secretary of the committee. She explains that the railway is “Community-run, for the community,”
“In addition to running days and events, there are regular working bees to make sure everything is in safe, working order.”
The track, which carries miniature locomotives and carriages is about 350 metres long. There are two creek crossings.
“The children love to see the wildlife,” Dianne says. “There is a huge variety of water birds, even the occasional blue tongue lizard and platypus.”
The railway runs on the last Saturday of the month, except December. Some running days celebrate a theme including Halloween, Christmas, Easter and February’s Teddy Bears Picnic. In addition, private events are catered for and the railway is a popular choice for children’s birthdays.
