Why community and connection are so important

Steph Ryan MP

This magazine throws a spotlight on the stories of more than 50 community groups and businesses, and over 110 people in Kilmore.

I’d like to thank each and every person who gave their time to share their stories.

Mitchell Bicycle Users Group

A physio by trade, Pauline Duff became involved with MBUG (Mitchell Bicycle Users Group) 13 years ago. “I’d been on a couple of rides on the Great Victorian Rail Trail with relatives before I saw MBUG in the paper,” she explains, “I’ve been riding with them ever since.”

The Darraweit Guim local says that MBUG is a social group which is not about speed or lycra! They ride through the Mitchell Shire every Sunday morning, starting at various towns including Kilmore. Occasionally there is an out of town ride.

“Some members organise trips further afield,” Pauline says. “We do the occasional weekend away riding, and have even been to New Zealand. But MBUG is a local thing. We want to promote healthy living.” She says that new people are always welcome.
